Essential duties and responsibilities include working with project teams to develop interior design solution, primarily for complex healthcare projects as well as corporate interiors. Assisting Senior Medical Planner to program and plan healthcare facilities and help collaborate with user groups, departments, and hospital administration. Researching materials and concepts to advise and support design team on technical issues influencing interior design concept development. Collaborating and communicating effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members. Coordinating all aspects of design including ceiling, lighting, medical equipment, and furniture. Working within project schedules to prioritize tasks and coordinate the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion.

The primary duties as the Interior Design Coordinator at HDR Architecture is assisting Senior Designers with evaluations, selections and applications for Healthcare and Science and Technology interior design concepts. Applying basic knowledge of programming and functional analysis as well as knowledge of space planning principles, focusing on Medical Planning. Applying design principles in development and preparation of presentation drawings. Requiring ability to interpret plans and specifications and knowledge of interior code requirements, construction administration procedures, and electrical/HVAC systems. Selecting interior details, materials, color selections, furniture and furnishings selections, lighting design, space planning, and detailing. Software knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Sketch-up, and Adobe creative suite.

Responsibilities include working in a collaborative team with Director, Project Manager, and Design Coordinator on commercial space plans, interpreting, drafting and editing red lines of floor plans, RCPs, electrical and power plans, elevations, details and specifications using AutoCAD; Incorporating the knowledge of building codes and construction procedures; Working and researching on interior plan details, selecting materials, color, furniture, and lighting per project. Producing company standard schemes and presentation boards, ordering material samples and coordinating with designers to work on different phases of individual corporate commercial projects, including site surveys, measurement, punch reports, programming, and contract drawings.
